I’m Mr. Wise of WisePH. I write many of the guides myself, and I built the systems that update our results pages. Most of our readers come here before a big step. They may be checking a board exam result, filing a claim, or budgeting for fuel. So a wrong number on this site can cost someone real money or a wasted trip. That is why every fact here has to trace back to the agency that issued it.
This page shows where our information comes from, how we check it, and what we do when something is wrong.
Where our information comes from
Each of these topics has one official source. Therefore, when a figure on our page and the agency’s document ever differ, the agency’s document wins.
How we check before we publish
A source alone is not enough. We also check that the numbers make sense and that we read the latest version of the document.
- We read the document itself, not a summary of it. Then we name it in the article, like PhilHealth Circular 2024-0034. That way, you can look up the original on the agency’s website.
- We check numbers against each other. For example, a board exam can never have more passers than examinees. If PRC’s figures do not add up, the release waits until I check it by hand.
- We check fuel prices against DOE. Every week, DOE publishes the official range of price changes across oil companies. If a figure falls outside that range, we hold it back and check it. Our year-to-date totals come straight from DOE’s weekly Oil Monitor.
- We show dates only after we confirm them. A new year’s PRC exam schedule appears on our pages only after I check it against PRC. Holidays go up only after the President signs the proclamation.
- We use Manila time for every date, deadline and daily update.
- If we cannot confirm it, we leave it out, even if it makes the guide shorter.
Estimates are always labeled as estimates
Some readers want to know what will happen before the official figure comes out. For example, they ask about next week’s fuel prices or the date PRC will release a result. In those cases, we show the information clearly as an estimate or a target, together with its date.
- A fuel price outlook for next week is never shown as a price.
- A PRC release date is PRC’s own target date until the results actually come out.
Meanwhile, we do not make up our own forecasts. If the official source has not said it, we do not present it as fact.
When an agency changes something
Agencies update their rules often. PhilHealth releases new circulars, SSS changes contribution tables, and PRC sometimes moves an exam. So we recheck our guides against the agency’s latest documents, and we update the page when something changes.
For example, on October 30, 2026, I rechecked our TESDA scholarship guide against TESDA’s own circulars. As a result, I corrected one figure. The guide had said PESFA scholars get a “₱2,500 to ₱3,500 monthly stipend.” In fact, TESDA’s circular sets a ₱60 daily allowance plus a book allowance. I also removed three claims I could not find in any TESDA document.
When we get it wrong
We still make mistakes. When we do, we fix them fast, and we make the fix visible.
- We correct the error on the page as soon as we confirm it against the official source.
- Some of our pages update by themselves. On those, a corrected figure can carry a “Corrected” badge or a note, so you notice the change.
- When an error comes from a gap in our process, we fix the process too, not just the page.
If you spot something wrong, please tell us through our contact page. Include the page, the figure, and the official document that shows the correct one.
Who writes WisePH
Every guide shows its author, and each author page tells you who they are. Our writers also cover topics they know first-hand. For instance, Liz works in a hospital in Dubai and handles PhilHealth claims. She writes many of our PhilHealth and SSS guides from what she sees at the billing counter. Meanwhile, I write the PRC results pages and many of the Pag-IBIG guides myself.
What WisePH is not
WisePH is not affiliated with PCSO, PRC, DOE, SSS, Pag-IBIG, PhilHealth, TESDA or any other government agency. We are an independent site that helps you find and understand official information quickly. Still, for anything official, use the agency’s own website or office. That includes claiming a prize, filing for a benefit and applying for a license.
Google AdSense serves the ads on WisePH. Advertisers do not see our articles before they go up, and they have no say in what we write.
