Effective Tuesday, August 25, 2026, diesel went up ₱2.31 per liter, gasoline went up ₱1.08 and kerosene went up ₱0.95, as announced by the oil companies.
The Department of Energy reported the range across all oil companies in its weekly Oil Monitor: diesel increase of ₱2.30 to ₱2.31, gasoline increase of ₱1.00 to ₱1.10, kerosene increase of ₱0.91 to ₱1.00 per liter. The figures above fall within it.
Why prices moved: Dubai crude rose about $4.40 a barrel. International gasoline rose about $2.50 a barrel and diesel rose about $4.00. The peso weakened from ₱61.18 to ₱61.67 per US dollar, which makes imported fuel more expensive. (Trading week of August 17 to 21, 2026; figures from the Department of Energy's Oil Monitor.)
The week before (August 18, 2026), diesel went up ₱3.84 per liter, gasoline went up ₱2.49 and kerosene went up ₱5.01. By August 25, 2026, gasoline had gone up 2 weeks in a row, diesel had gone up 2 weeks in a row and kerosene had gone up 2 weeks in a row. From January 1 to this week, the Department of Energy counted 34 price adjustments, leaving gasoline up a net ₱54.92, diesel up a net ₱59.06 and kerosene up a net ₱51.65 per liter. For a 40-liter gasoline fill-up, that meant ₱43.20 more; for a 60-liter diesel tank, ₱138.60 more.
In Metro Manila that week, DOE monitoring found diesel from ₱79.00 to ₱97.80 per liter, RON 91 gasoline from ₱64.20 to ₱87.60 and RON 95 from ₱65.20 to ₱94.80 (DOE report).
