The peso strengthened from ₱61.53 to ₱60.91 per US dollar, which makes imported fuel cheaper. (Trading week of August 3 to 7, 2026; figures from the Department of Energy's Oil Monitor.)
The week before (August 4, 2026), diesel went down ₱0.60 per liter, gasoline went down ₱0.73 and kerosene went down ₱2.09.
