Effective Tuesday, October 6, 2026, diesel went down ₱1.30 per liter, gasoline went up ₱1.90 and kerosene went up ₱3.30, as announced by the oil companies.
The Department of Energy confirmed the range across all oil companies in its official advisory on October 5, 2026: diesel rollback of at least ₱1.30, gasoline increase of up to ₱1.93, kerosene increase of up to ₱3.30 per liter. The figures above fall within it.
Why prices moved: Dubai crude fell about $5.20 a barrel. International gasoline rose about $4.30 a barrel and diesel fell about $2.50. The peso strengthened from ₱62.70 to ₱62.60 per US dollar, which makes imported fuel cheaper. That is why gasoline went up even though crude fell: pump prices follow international gasoline prices more closely than crude. The week before (September 29, 2026), diesel went down ₱7.60 per liter, gasoline went down ₱0.30 and kerosene went down ₱5.90. By October 6, 2026, diesel had come down 2 weeks in a row. From January 1 to this week, the Department of Energy counted 40 price adjustments, leaving gasoline up a net ₱71.59, diesel up a net ₱64.83 and kerosene up a net ₱61.99 per liter. For a 40-liter gasoline fill-up, that meant ₱76.00 more; for a 60-liter diesel tank, ₱78.00 less.
In Metro Manila that week, DOE monitoring found diesel from ₱83.00 to ₱99.40 per liter, RON 91 gasoline from ₱78.60 to ₱96.50 and RON 95 from ₱79.60 to ₱101.80 (DOE report).
